Best Meta Ads MCP servers (2026): official, open source and hosted compared

The best Meta Ads MCP server depends on whether you want the assistant to change your account. To read and diagnose only, look at servers that are read-only by their own documentation, such as Adzviser, Funnel, GoMarble's Copilot plan or Hopkin (ours). To create and edit campaigns from chat, start with Meta's own ads MCP server if your account has access to it, and look at a hosted or self-hosted server if it does not or you need other platforms in the same server. Below we compare 18 servers on what each can write, whether writes are on by default and, where published, what each costs, from each vendor's own pages as of 2026-10-19; we have not run any of them.

What is a Meta Ads MCP server?

A Meta Ads MCP server connects an AI assistant to Meta's advertising platform (Facebook and Instagram) through the Model Context Protocol, so the assistant can call tools: pull a performance report, list campaigns and, on some servers, create or edit ads. Meta runs one itself. It is remote-hosted at mcp.facebook.com/ads and, per its overview page, works with any MCP-compatible AI agent; Meta's hub page says only the clients Meta has validated are supported (see below).12 The rest are built by other companies or by individual developers. They differ on whether they can change your account, whether changes are on by default, who has your Meta token and what you pay.

How did we compare them?

We read each vendor's documentation, pricing page and repository on 2026-10-19. We did not run these servers, so what any of them does in practice is untested here. Tool counts for open-source servers are our counts from their code or README, and stars and commit dates come from GitHub's API. Counts for hosted products are the vendors' figures. Prices are as published that day and they change often.

We build Hopkin, which is listed below. It is read-only, so it does not suit everyone, and we say where. When a vendor's pages contradict each other, we report both numbers.

Which Meta Ads MCP server should you pick?

It depends on whether you want the assistant to change your account. This table is our judgment from the vendors' published facts below, and we did not test the servers.

What does Meta's official ads MCP server do?

It reads and writes, and not every account has access yet. Meta announced it in open beta on 2026-04-29, as part of Meta ads AI connectors alongside a separate command-line tool; we found no Meta page saying it has left beta.20 Meta's help page for it says "You may not have access to all of these tools and features yet."8 A user on Meta's developer forum reported one ad account in a business portfolio blocked with the message "Ads MCP is gradually being rolled out" while another account in the same portfolio worked. The thread had no reply from Meta when we read it. We found no Meta page that sets out eligibility rules beyond "gradually rolling out" in its developer blog and a Settings entry, described on its help page, that appears only if you have access.21228

What can it do?

Meta groups its tools into seven categories: reporting, ad creation and management, catalogs, signals and datasets, help and troubleshooting, A/B tests and conversion lift studies, and activity logs.1 The Meta pages we read give no total. By our count of the tool names on its seven category pages it is more than 80.2392425262728 The ad creation category has tools that create a campaign, an ad set and an ad, and one that activates them. Meta describes the activation tool as one that "starts spending budget".9 Meta's developer blog says the server can delete campaigns, ad sets and ads, but the tool pages we read list delete tools for custom audiences, catalog items and pixel events and none for campaigns or ads.2292425

What controls does Meta build in?

Meta documents these controls; we did not test them. Two are built in and a third is limited. First, new objects are created paused: Meta's tools page says "Write tools create entities in a paused state; your AI client asks for confirmation before activation".9 The confirmation comes from your AI client, so it may depend on your client's settings (our reading). Second, Meta's help page says any action taken on your behalf requires your authorization through the AI agent.8 Third, ads MCP server rules can deny specific actions on an ad account, for example any budget increase above 20% or delivery status changes.29 Anyone with full control of a business portfolio can set them.8 The rules are in limited availability, though: if your business is not enrolled, Meta says calls to the rules API for an ad account return error code 10.29

How do you connect it?

There are two routes. Meta says that for the connector no developer credentials, API setup or coding are required.20 Alternatively, a developer can connect with their own Meta app, and the docs list three authentication methods: OAuth, a user access token or a system user access token. The token needs at least the ads_mcp_management permission plus ads_read or ads_management.30 Agencies and partners who manage other businesses' data through their own app must request Advanced Access on ads_mcp_management through app review.22

Which AI clients work with it?

Meta's lists differ by page. The help page names ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Perplexity.8 Meta's MCP hub page, last updated 2026-06-12, lists Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT on the web, Codex and Cursor.2

What does it cost?

We found no price on the Meta pages we read for this guide.

Our view: if you only run Meta ads and your account is enabled, start here, bearing in mind it is still described as open beta. It is first-party, and where your business is enrolled in rules you can cap what an agent can do. You give up breadth, because it covers Meta only, and it includes write tools.

Which open-source and source-available Meta Ads MCP servers can you run yourself?

The six self-hostable servers we looked at (five under open-source licenses, Pipeboard under a source-available one) differ most on whether writes are on by default. Most run on your machine with a Meta access token you supply, usually from your own Meta app. byadsco is a server you deploy yourself, and GoMarble's installer obtains the token through GoMarble's service.316 Token handling is yours either way.

Self-hostable Meta Ads MCP servers: repositories read 2026-10-19; stars and commit dates from GitHub's API
ServerLicenseStars, last commitTools (our count)Writes by default
Pipeboard (pipeboard-co/meta-ads-mcp)32 Business Source License 1.1, becomes Apache-2.0 on 2029-01-0133 1,314, 2026-09-23 40 in code; the README lists 28 and says 42 On: 14 write tools by our name count, none named delete, though Pipeboard's token guide lists deletion under its Full Access token.34 The README says new campaigns start paused and every write needs explicit confirmation; we did not test either
GoMarble (gomarble-ai/facebook-ads-mcp-server)6 MIT 366, 2026-08-05 21 No write calls found in the code: all 21 tools are reads. The README mentions "management features"
hashcott (meta-ads-mcp-server)16 MIT 16, 2026-05-25 54: 35 read, 19 write Off. Opt in with META_ADS_ENABLE_WRITE_TOOLS=true
getmcpads (meta-ads-mcp-server)17 Apache-2.0 1, 2026-09-20 64: 41 read, 23 write Off. Opt in with META_ENABLE_WRITES=1; each write previews first and campaigns are always created paused
byadsco (meta-ads-mcp)31 MIT 21, 2026-10-11 142, including WhatsApp tools; 63 are not marked read-only On. We found no switch to turn writes off
mikusnuz (meta-ads-mcp)35 MIT 90, 2026-10-08 134 On: about 60 write tools by our name-based count, and we found no confirmation step

Is Pipeboard open source?

Its README calls the project open source, but its license is the Business Source License 1.1, which does not allow offering the software to third parties on a hosted basis that competes with the licensor.3332 In our reading, "source-available" is the accurate term (this is not legal advice). Pipeboard also sells a hosted version, covered below.

What should you check before self-hosting?

Start with the defaults. Three of the six keep writes off or absent by default (GoMarble, hashcott and getmcpads) and three expose them by default, as far as we can tell from the code and READMEs.61617323135 Then check how current the project is: the last commits above run from 2026-05-25 to 2026-10-11.

Then think about the token. Pipeboard's repository lists 12 published security advisories between 2026-05-20 and 2026-09-23. Two are rated critical, for unauthenticated tool execution that could leak the operator's Meta access token.36 We did not check the patch status of each, and we looked at advisories for Pipeboard's repository only, not the other five.

Which hosted third-party Meta Ads MCP servers exist, and what do they cost?

With a hosted server you connect your Meta account through the vendor's service instead of running anything yourself. All seven below can write to Meta except where noted, and all prices are as published on 2026-10-19.

Hosted Meta Ads MCP servers: vendor pages, read 2026-10-19
ServerMeta tools (vendor's count)Safety as publishedPrice as published
Pipeboard "30+" on its token guide, 42 in its README3432 New campaigns paused. Read-only and per-tool tokens need Pro or higher34 Free (30 executions a week, 2 ad accounts); Pro $29.90, Premium $99, Agency $199 a month10
Adspirer 36 on its Meta page, 60 in its docs, 20 in its llms.txt113738 New campaigns are created paused and budget changes need confirmation; the vendor says it cannot delete existing campaigns. We found no read-only mode11 Free (15 tasks a month); Plus $49, Pro $99, Max $199 a month ($40, $83 and $167 billed annually)3911
PaidSync "37+" for Meta in its docs (309 across 8 platforms on its homepage)4013 Its pages disagree: the pricing page says "Every AI write requires draft approval", while the homepage says the AI "executes changes directly in your live ad accounts — no staging queues"4113 Free (15 calls a month); Plus $49, Pro $99, Max $199 a month; Team $99 a seat41
MCP Ads 230, of which about 90 are writes12 New campaigns and ad sets paused; a viewer role is read-only12 $49 a month, 7-day trial, card required at checkout; we found no free tier42
Ads Uploader 28 on its MCP page, 24 in its homepage FAQ and demo1543 Has a preview (dry-run) tool. Built for bulk launches; we found no reporting tools1544 $59 a month billed monthly, or $44 a month billed annually ($528 a year). MCP is for paid plans, not trials454344
GoMarble (hosted) We found no total on the pages we read Copilot plan is read-only. Operator and above write with your approval, through "propose" tools that send nothing to Meta until applied546 Copilot $139, Operator $399, Scale $799 a month5
Ryze AI 12: 9 read and 3 approval-gated write, which are generic Graph API write and delete calls14 Writes need approval14 Paid Ads $89 a month with a 7-day trial; Agency $27947

Do these vendors' pages agree with each other?

Five of the seven vendors have pages that disagree with each other, so our checklist below says to read the tool list instead of trusting the label. Beyond the PaidSync approval wording above (its docs describe the assistant confirming actions, which is client-side), Adspirer gives three different Meta tool counts113738, and MCP Ads says 230 tools and 234 on the same page.12 MCP Ads' Meta page lists delete tools for campaigns, ad sets and ads, while its security page says destructive operations are not exposed at all.1248 Ads Uploader's pricing says the trial is unrestricted, while its docs say MCP is not available during a trial.4544 Pipeboard's README says 42 tools and lists 28.32 Marketing pages drift, and we have not tested any of these servers, so none of this shows that one is unsafe.

Can a reporting or optimization platform serve as your Meta Ads MCP?

Yes, if you already pay for one and mostly need reports. Supermetrics, Windsor.ai, Funnel and Adzviser are data connectors that added MCP servers; Madgicx is a Meta-focused ad optimization platform that includes an MCP server with its plans.49 Three of the five can write to Meta, so check the plan.

Reporting and optimization platforms with a Meta Ads MCP: vendor pages, read 2026-10-19
PlatformWrites to Meta?Price as published
Supermetrics Yes, once enabled per ad account in its Hub. Off by default, with four approval modes, and your subscription must include MCP access18 Starter from €49 a month (€39 billed yearly); Growth from €199 (€159 yearly) in the euro view of its pricing page; other regions show other currencies. We did not confirm which plans include MCP access50
Windsor.ai Yes: Windsor lists 20 Meta write actions.51 It says they work in MCP-compatible clients, and its pages name different example clients, so test yours19 Free (30-day trial, then 1 data source and 1 account); Basic $23 a month billed monthly ($19 annually), Standard $118 ($99), Plus $299 ($249), Professional $598 ($499). MCP is on every plan52
Funnel No. Its MCP tools are read-only and the connection uses OAuth 2.04 MCP on all plans, 30-day trial without a card. Its pricing page shows Starter from $300 a month and Business from $600, billed annually53
Adzviser No. It says the connection "does not apply campaign changes"3 Starter $48.99 a month (3 data sources); Growth $148.99 (7)54
Madgicx Partly: 22 read tools and 27 write or control tools in its Facebook MCP, but it could not yet create or duplicate campaigns on its academy page55 Priced by ad spend, from $45 a month; the MCP is included with plans49

Two caveats. Funnel's MCP has no Meta-specific tools: it queries data Funnel has already pulled, and its query_data tool returns up to 500 rows by default.4 Madgicx's Facebook MCP is Meta-only, and the academy page that lists what its MCP cannot do yet is marked "Last updated: March 2026", so check it before relying on it.55

Where does Hopkin fit?

Hopkin is our product: a read-only MCP server that connects Meta and other ad platforms to an AI assistant. Its Meta server lists 29 tools in the manifest we read on 2026-10-19 (commit aa0cfab).567 By our classification, 16 of the 29 read ad data (reports, lists, ad library search, charts and pixel health) and 13 manage Hopkin itself (connections, billing status, competitor tracking and feedback). The manifest separately annotates 20 as read-only. The other 9 (billing status, competitor tracking, connection settings and feedback) change Hopkin-side state, not Meta. None of the 29 writes to a Meta ad account.56 Campaign and creative records are cached for speed, and performance metrics are fetched live each time and not kept.57 Our homepage describes read-only as "a genuine limit", and says that if you want an agent that changes things while you sleep, Hopkin is not it.57

You connect Meta through OAuth. Hopkin's docs say platform OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and refreshed automatically.58 An API key or OAuth sign-in to Hopkin works with Claude, Notion Custom Agents or any MCP-compatible client.5758 Starter is $100 a month with 1,500 credits and Pro is $250 with 8,000. Enterprise is set up by request. Every plan includes every platform, unlimited seats and unlimited ad accounts, a report costs 5 credits, syncing an ad account costs 100 credits once a month, and credits beyond your plan are billed at $0.015 each. Starter and Pro begin with a 30-day trial of 1,000 credits and no credit card.57

Our view: pick Hopkin when finding the answer across Meta, Google and LinkedIn is the slow part of your week. Pick Meta's server or a hosted writer when you want the assistant to launch or edit.

What should you check before connecting any of them?

This checklist is ours, and no standard backs it. The longer version is in our read-only ads MCP guide.59

  1. Read the tool list instead of trusting the label. Look for verbs that change things: create, update, pause, delete. Several vendors above show why: their pages disagree about tool counts and approvals.
  2. Find out where confirmation happens. On Meta's server, the page says the AI client asks for confirmation before activation.9 If your client auto-approves tool calls, you may not see that prompt (our reading), so check the setting.
  3. Check the scope. For hashcott and getmcpads, ads_read covers reading and ads_management is only needed for writes; check each other server's README for the scopes it asks for.1617 Meta's own server needs ads_mcp_management plus one of them.30
  4. Cap what it can do. Meta rules, Pipeboard's read-only tokens, MCP Ads' viewer role and Supermetrics' approval modes each narrow a server's reach.29341218
  5. Test on a throwaway account first. Ask it to pause a test campaign, then check the account.

Frequently asked questions

Does Meta have an official MCP server for ads?

Yes. Meta's ads MCP server is hosted at mcp.facebook.com/ads, and Meta announced it in open beta on 2026-04-29. It can read and write, and Meta says you may not have access to all of its tools yet.

Is the Meta Ads MCP free?

We found no price on the Meta pages we read. The other servers on this page range from free tiers to $799 a month on published plans (GoMarble Scale). Some plans are priced by seat, data source or ad spend, enterprise tiers are by quote, and your Meta ad spend is still billed by Meta.

Can a Meta Ads MCP server pause or edit my campaigns?

Meta's official server and most hosted and self-hostable servers can create and edit ads. By their own documentation, Funnel and Adzviser only read data, and Hopkin is read-only by its published manifest. We found no write calls in GoMarble's self-hosted code, though its README mentions "management features". We have not tested any of them.

Do I need my own Meta developer app?

Not for Meta's official connector, which Meta says needs no developer credentials, API setup or coding. The self-hostable servers need a Meta token, usually from your own Meta app; GoMarble's installer fetches one through GoMarble's service. Agencies connecting other businesses through their own app must request Advanced Access on ads_mcp_management.

Why does my ad account say Ads MCP is being rolled out?

One developer-forum user reported that message for a single ad account while another account in the same portfolio worked. Meta's help page says you may not have access to all tools yet, and we found no Meta page that explains who is enabled beyond "gradually rolling out".

Which Meta Ads MCP servers are read-only?

By their own documentation, Funnel, Adzviser and GoMarble's Copilot plan are read-only, Hopkin is read-only by its manifest, and we found no write calls in GoMarble's self-hosted server. hashcott and getmcpads keep writes off until you switch them on.
